Description
We are on the lookout for a skilled and dependable Registered Electrician to join our team.
Based in Petone, we work throughout the Greater Wellington region across a wide range of commercial electrical projects, maintenance work, HVAC, solar and security installations.
This is a varied, hands-on position for an electrician who takes pride in their workmanship, communicates well and can work confidently both independently and as part of a project team.
About the Role
Your work will include:
- Commercial electrical installations
- Alterations, upgrades and maintenance
- Lighting, power and switchboard installations
- Electrical testing, fault-finding and certification
- Reading plans and coordinating work on construction sites
- Liaising with project managers, site managers, clients and other trades
- Completing job records, photographs and documentation through SimPRO
- Supporting and supervising apprentices where required
- Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to Powerex standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a New Zealand Registered Electrician with a current Practising Licence
- Hold a current New Zealand driver licence
- Have solid commercial electrical experience
- Produce consistently tidy, compliant and high-quality work
- Be confident working independently and making sound decisions onsite
- Be organised and able to plan your work effectively
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors and other trades
- Be comfortable using mobile technology for job management and documentation
- Understand the importance of accurate testing, certification and recordkeeping
- Have a positive attitude and contribute well within a team
- Be reliable, punctual and accountable for your work
Experience supervising apprentices, leading small teams or managing sections of commercial projects would be an advantage.
